Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art and combat sport focused on ground fighting and submissions, developed from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.

Jiu jitsu emphasizes ground techniques that allow a smaller, weaker person to control and defeat a larger, stronger opponent, while Judo focuses on takedowns.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Sport and Self Defense

Tulsa Combat Sports was founded in 2023 and is a comnglomerate of the Tulsa Judo Club and Balanced Bodies Jiu Jitsu, creating an all-inclusive training center that includes Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Yoga, and Massage Therapy.

As an affiliate of Triton Fight Center, Tulsa Combat Sports helps set the standard for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

What we teach

Gi Fundamentals

With technical detail and an emphasis on positional stability and control, these classes are a great place to start your journey for sport or self defense.

No-Gi Fundamentals

A great place to take your first class. The techniques provide students the skills needed to defend themselves with a focus on escaping poor positions.

Judo – Tulsa Judo Club

Judo directly complements jiu jitsu by improving takedown skills in a competitive evnronment so you can learn to get your opponent to the ground.

Competition Class

Competition classes build on the techniques taught in the fundamentals classes and help students build skills to prepare for tournaments.

Drills for Skills Class

A class focused on getting additional repetitions of techniques taught each week, with increasing resistance and movement for realistic training.

Open Mat – Judo / BJJ

Whether it's time to test your skills through repeated rounds against fully resisting opponents or you want to sharpen your skills, open mat is the place to be.
